Thinking about it too makes me cringe because even I have uttered the same question but is there really a problem with asking? Sexual assault is a very traumatic and painful situation that affects those that have been assaulted. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 in 5 women and 1 in 71 men reported experiencing rape at some time in their lives while 1 in 20 women and men have experienced sexual violence. Those numbers are STAGGERING!!! This means that someone in your circle might have been raped but just has not said anything to you or you might know someone that was raped.
